Worldwide Orchids, located in Apopka, Florida, was founded in late 1991 as a supplier to the newly emerging commercial orchid industry in the United States. Following hurricane Andrew in 1992, nearly all of the private and commercial orchid growers of south Florida were decimated. The company quickly expanded, and by the late 1990’s had nearly 300,000 square feet of greenhouse at three different locations in the Orlando area.

The company’s mission has been to provide the latest in colors, shades, and patterns in a variety of types at an acceptable price. Over the years, the company has supplied customers such as Lowe’s, five divisions of The Home Depot, BJ Wholesale Club, Kroeger Company, The Fresh Market, plus hundreds of independent garden centers, florists, and plants brokers in all parts of the country.

As the retail market grew and expanded, the company adjusted its philosophy: to provide the highest quality blooming orchids with unparalleled customer service to retail companies requiring the very best for their quality conscious consumers.

Today, Worldwide Orchids’ blooming plants can be found at over 160 grocery stores, as well as many small independent garden centers and retailers who cater to a discriminating clientele. We continue to create and search out the latest trends in easy to grow, long-lasting, blooming orchids. While Phalaenopsis are the dominate orchid we grow and sell, we do offer other types during their individual seasons.
